Our solutions for archives

Tripont’s heritage preservation team offers archives numerous solutions in digitisation and archive services.

360°

A digitisation solution, from assessment to archive

Tripont offers comprehensive digitisation solutions for archives: not only the equipment, but also training, the workflow and the archive system.

  1. 01

    Expert services

After a needs assessment, we review the technology currently used by our clients, and together we work out the most suitable strategy for the developments required.

  2. 02

    Equipment installation

Once it has been decided, together with our experts, which equipment to install, our team puts it into operation. This is followed by training, in which the institution’s staff learn to use the equipment correctly.

  3. 03

    Workflow design

After the equipment has been installed, we set up the workflow and software environment in which the work proceeds most efficiently. We automate repetitive tasks.

  4. 04

    Archive system

With our own archive system we can display even the largest image files, videos and text files. Digitisation and publication can therefore proceed in parallel.

Multispectral analysis

Phase One multispectral system

Phase One’s multispectral system was designed for artistic, cultural and scientific applications, in particular for revealing hidden details of artworks and documents. It combines high-resolution medium-format camera technology with multispectral imaging, so it also captures in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges.

The analysis produces eight images in different spectral ranges. This is how texts in poor condition, faded or scraped off become legible, and how painted surfaces and materials can be analysed.

The eight image types

  • VIS: visible light illumination
  • IRR: infrared illumination
  • IRRFC: infrared, with false-colour rendering
  • UVRFC: ultraviolet, with false-colour rendering
  • UVL: ultraviolet-induced visible luminescence
  • UVR: imaging under ultraviolet illumination
  • UVIL: ultraviolet illumination through an infrared filter
  • VIL: visible-light-induced infrared luminescence

SMA Robo Scan V2 robotic scanner with yellow-and-black housing and monitor

Large-format and robotic scanners

SMA scanners

With its scanning area of 635 × 1,270 mm, the VERSASCAN 2550 A1+ flatbed scanner is suitable for digitising maps, plans and other large sheets. Its V3D technology means that textured and reflective surfaces, such as seals and coins, can also be captured in the best quality.

The ROBO SCAN V2 offers robotic and manual scanning in a single unit: alongside automatic page turning, difficult books can also be scanned by hand.

WideTEK large-format scanner with a map

Large-format scanner

WideTEK scanners

For the archival-quality digitisation of maps, plans, posters and other large documents: sheet-fed models up to 1,524 mm wide for sheets of virtually unlimited length, and flatbed models for fragile originals.
