SMA Robo Scan V2 robotic scanner with yellow-and-black housing and monitor

ROBO SCAN V2 robotic book scanner

This book scanner was designed for digitisation projects in which most of the work can be left to robotics, while for problematic books the operator can scan the documents manually, even by hand.

In other words, the ROBO SCAN V2 offers robotic and manual scanning in the same unit. What is more, documents can be scanned in different positions, although the glass plate is recommended for the best results. Turning the pages, moving the V-shaped glass plate up and down and starting the scan are fully automatic.

Books can also be scanned without pressure, or simply contact-free. The V-shaped glass plate can be removed in less than a minute.

In fact, the ROBO SCAN V2 offers even more! The book cradle can also be converted from V-shaped to flat, so that magazines, photographs, maps or any other flat material can be scanned as well.

The ROBO SCAN V2 can be operated via its touchscreen or, optionally, with Batch Scan Wizard, a fast and easy-to-use software solution for the professional management of large scanning volumes and jobs.

Advantages:

  • Robotic scanning of books in a V-shaped position (120 degrees) with and without a glass plate
  • Manual scanning of books in a V-shaped position (120 degrees) with and without a glass plate
  • Manual scanning of books in a fully open position (180 degrees)

Technical data:

  • Scanning range: A2+
  • Resolution: 600 ppi
  • 48-bit colour resolution
  • IP device with its own IP address
  • Scanning of books up to 150 mm thick in a 120-degree position

VERSASCAN 2550 A1 flatbed scanner

The VERSASCAN 2550 is an A1+ flatbed scanner. Its scanning range is 635 × 1,270 mm.

The VERSASCAN 2550 A1 flatbed scanner features V3D technology – a new scanning technology that allows users to scan many different types of material. It can digitise structured surfaces such as wood, rubber, plastic, fabrics, carpets and many other materials. Finally, light-reflecting objects such as coins, seals and metal plates can also be captured.

Operating the VERSASCAN 2550 A1 flatbed scanner is as easy as operating a photocopier. Open the lid, place the document, close the lid and press the scan button – that’s it! Alternatively, the scanner can conveniently be operated with a foot pedal.

  • According to the manufacturer, a scanning area 40% larger than that of standard A1 scanners
  • Very high optical resolution
  • Extremely high scanning speed
  • Free of IR and UV radiation
  • Visual 3D (V3D) technology
  • Bidirectional scanning

Technical data:

  • Scanning range 635 × 1,270 mm (25 × 50 inches)
  • 600 ppi optical resolution across the entire scanning range
  • 48-bit colour depth
  • IP device with its own IP address
  • Roll-away mount with fold-up function
  • Available with motorised height adjustment

VERSASCAN 3650 A0 flatbed scanner

The VERSASCAN 3650 is an A0 flatbed scanner. Thanks to its size and mobility, it is ideal for most applications.

The VERSASCAN 3650 A0 flatbed scanner features V3D – a new scanning technology that allows users to scan many different types of originals. It can digitise structured surfaces such as wood, rubber, plastic, fabric, carpet and many other types of material. Finally, reflective objects such as coins, seals and metal imprints can also be captured. V3D technology opens up new possibilities, as it can also be applied to materials beyond the usual world of archives and libraries.

Operating the VERSASCAN 3650 A0 flatbed scanner is as easy as operating a photocopier. Open the lid, place the document, close the lid and press the scan button – that’s it! Alternatively, the scanner can conveniently be operated with a foot pedal.

Advantages:

  • Scanning range larger than A0
  • Very high optical resolution
  • Extremely high scanning speed
  • Free of IR and UV radiation
  • Visual 3D (V3D) technology
  • Bidirectional scanning

Technical data:

  • Scanning range 914 × 1,270 mm (36 × 50 inches)
  • 600 ppi optical resolution across the entire scanning range
  • 48-bit colour depth
  • IP device with its own IP address
  • Roll-away mount with fold-up function

VERSASCAN 36100 double A0 flatbed scanner

The VERSASCAN 36100 double A0 flatbed scanner has a scanning length of 2,540 mm. It is ideal for scanning very long documents, even ones several metres long. It offers very high optical resolution and efficiency at the same time.

The VERSASCAN 36100 double A0 flatbed scanner features V3D technology – a new scanning technology that allows users to scan many different types of material. It can digitise structured surfaces such as wood, rubber, plastic, fabrics, carpets and many other materials. Finally, light-reflecting objects such as coins, seals and metal plates can also be captured.

V3D technology opens up new possibilities, as it can be applied to more than just the materials of archives and libraries. V3D stands for Visual 3D. It is a newly designed scanning technology that produces 3D-like results. The process is based on different lighting scenarios in which the same area is captured with lighting from several different angles. The software then combines the separate images into a single image. As a result, the V3D image renders almost any structured surface with a three-dimensional effect. It also increases the depth of field significantly. Incidentally, the V3D function can be switched off, and normal 2D scanning can be performed as well.

Using the VERSASCAN 36100 double A0 flatbed scanner is as easy as using a photocopier. Open the lid, place the document, close it, then press the scan button – done.

Advantages:

  • Scanning range larger than 2A0
  • Very high optical resolution
  • Extremely high scanning speed
  • Free of infrared and ultraviolet radiation
  • Visual 3D (V3D) technology
  • Bidirectional scanning

Technical data:

  • Scanning range: 914 × 2,540 mm (36 × 100 inches)

SCAN MASTER manual book scanners are available in several sizes, from A3 to A0. SMA SCAN MASTER book scanners are simple and convenient to operate. Simply place the book in the scanner and press the scan button. The rest of the process is fully automatic. All the operator has to do is turn the pages and start the scan. Every SMA scanner is fitted with a special LED light unit that emits no ultraviolet or infrared radiation. The illumination is even. On all SMA scanners the lamp is located in the scanning head and simply has to be rolled over the document. As a result, every SMA book scanner can be operated independently of ambient light and does not irritate the operator’s eyes.
