As the representative and training centre of Phase One CH for Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, in Bucharest, at a workshop linked to a heritage conservation conference, we presented the company’s museum-technology solutions: the iXG camera and the XF IQ4 150MP camera, and the Film Capture Stage needed for digitising films and glass plates

Demonstration and workshop

At the above conference our host, Mihai Musceleanu, Phase One’s representative in Romania, gave a talk entitled “Using high-resolution, top-quality photographic equipment for the digitisation of cultural heritage objects”, and the next day our experts, Dániel Horváth and Dániel Bedő, gave the presentation and a practical demonstration.

We demonstrated the versatility of Phase One’s equipment with various objects from the RNHM collection: we digitised maps, a glass negative, a film negative and a colour slide as well.

Focus Stacking demo with the XF camera

With a copy of a prehistoric idol we demonstrated the automatic Focus Stacking technology of the XF camera, with which, by combining several images, we produced a high-resolution image that is perfectly sharp at every point.
